The Beauty of Rooms

I’ll never forget a few summers ago traveling to upstate New York with a large group of friends for a birthday party, all staying together at this gorgeous remote farm property (which no longer serves the public, sadly!).

Some might cringe at the thought of spending a weekend with 16 people under one roof, but I reveled at the idea because I love being surrounded by others. Little did I know, that trip would inspire a whole shift in my design mindset.

The Intersection Between Newborn Life and Design

Embarking on motherhood has challenged me in ways I never expected, yet has brought me a level of love, joy, strength and pride I’ve never experienced before. More on all I’ve learned to come, but this post is dedicated to new parents near and far, to empower you with the shortcuts I’ve found immensely helpful as we’ve navigated this wild (and precious!) time…

It’s something I experience often with clients, because we truly live in a day and age where anything is possible and/or accessible… but being inundated with options is taxing and ultimately unproductive if you’re looking to progress with your design changes and get things done…

Remembering these benefits as you endeavor to style your space around the presence of windows can be very helpful…

Design as Self-Care and Overcoming Impermanence

I have tremendous respect for those who have envisioned their lives in one place, setting down roots and staying put, creating their “forever home,” I really do. Personally though, that mindset is very foreign to me. I think it’s because by the age of 18 moving became such a familiar concept to me that I learned to thrive off of the newness, change and growth afforded to me through experiencing living in so many different places…
