One-Time Consultations

  • Getting Started

    • Upon purchasing, you will be sent a confirmation email along with a secondary email with things to consider ahead of our call, and an opportunity to send questions, images and inspiration to me ahead of time. The more information I have to prepare from ahead of our call, the better I am able to support you.

  • Best Practices

    • For us to get the most out of our time together, I ask that you schedule your sessions when you can be in a quiet place, not distracted and fully present. Please come with questions ready and prepared to take notes.

  • What about Follow Ups?

    • Due to limited bandwidth, I don’t offer email or text follow up once the One-Time Consultation has concluded. That said, you are welcome to purchase as many additional consultations as you’d like and/or purchase a Design Analysis which will equip you with written/visual guidance that you can refer back to over time.

Design Analysis

  • What I need from you…

    • Prior to our first consultation, you will be asked to submit images of the spaces we’ll be focusing on. It’s essential to have the images ahead of our first consultation to make the most of that time. Please visit the General FAQ page for best practices for taking images and videos.

    • If you have any unique requirements or pressing questions ahead of our consultation, please submit them with your images and I’ll follow up accordingly.

  • How long does it take to receive the completed presentation?

    • The sooner I receive all of the images and inspiration that I need from you, the sooner I can get to work.

    • At this time I’m running a 2-3 week turnaround. That is subject to change and will be confirmed by email ahead of work commencing.

  • Design ideas and recommendations are more conceptual in nature

    • My goal is to equip you with the design direction needed to apply changes to your space. While I try my best to select exact furnishings, paint colors, decor items, etc., sometimes the dimensions are not best-suited to your space.

    • I encourage every client to heavily scrutinize every detail about a product I suggest (reviews, delivery times, shipping/return charges, dimensions, etc.) prior to purchasing. If anything feels like a poor fit for your space, please interpret the choice I’ve selected as creative direction to inspire you.

  • Shoppable Elements

    • The beauty of a Design Analysis is that the shoppable elements I select for your space (furnishings, rugs, decor, lighting, etc.) are linked to their source so you can click the image to be redirected to the website to purchase.

VIP Consulting Packages

  • How does this work?

    • Our first consultation will operate much the same as a One-Time Consultation (see above). Upon purchasing a VIP Package, you will receive an email from me requesting more information about the needs of your project.

    • During our first consultation, we will discuss how the pace of our work together will flow. In a nutshell, I produce the deliverables on your timeline - we move at your pace.

    • Consider this a personal relationship - we will be in frequent contact and get to know each other very well. We will establish best practices for our communication and how I can best serve you.

  • Payment Plans

    • I am thrilled you’re interested in a VIP Package and I am happy to work to accommodate your financial needs. Please reach out to info@lizgaffneydesign.com prior to purchasing to confirm an arrangement.

  • Cancellations

    • The benefit of a time-bound plan is that we are able to get very in-depth with the details surrounding your project. When you commit to a time period (3 or 6 months), the expectation is that full payment is received (either up front or via payments in installments). If you choose to not move forward with my support after a few consultations or deliverables, I will regrettably understand however full payment for the entire duration of the time period is expected to be paid.

  • What do you mean by UNLIMITED text and email?

    • When I say UNLIMITED text and email support, I mean it. Prior clients email me sometimes daily, or text in the middle of the night. My goal is to remain in close touch, responding to points of contact (depending on the breadth of the questions) within a few hours of receiving them.

  • Do I liaise with other sub/contractors?

    • Yes, absolutely. I frequently work with other kitchen/bath designers, general contractors, architects and other tradespeople to help communicate your goals. I can either coach you through how to work with them, or I can liaise with them directly.

  • Do you provide recommendations for sub/contractors?

    • It depends on where you’re located. If you’re in a geographic location where I have familiarity with specific service providers, I’ll be happy to pass them along to you. If not, I’ll support you by providing my best practices for selecting the individual trades.

In-Person Consulting

  • All pricing, scheduling, terms and conditions are tailored to the size and scope of each individual project, in the form of a custom proposal. Please contact me to inquire.
